Bofii armchair

Swivel armchair with an architectural form, inspired by Ricardo Bofill

Bizzarto Bofii armchair

Designed by Grynasz Studio, the Bofii armchair translates Ricardo Bofill's postmodern architecture into a soft, monumental seat, available on a swivel base if you wish.

The Bofii collection draws on the work of Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill, one of the leading figures of postmodernism. His unusual building forms and considered use of colour are echoed in the armchair's expressive, soft lines. The shapes are friendly yet monumental; rounded contours and organic proportions pursue the same dialogue between form and function that Bofill explored in his designs. The pastel and light fabrics seen in the photo shoot evoke sandstone, concrete and limestone, but you can have the armchair in any fabric from the extensive Bizzarto range.

Comfort is central to the Bofii. The armrests sit at a pleasant height and the slightly recessed base makes it easy to stand up. You choose between a wider or narrower armrest and between a higher or lower back cushion, each with its own shape. You can also tailor the softness of the seat and back to your preference. The armchair comes in several widths, from 71 to 100 cm, and can be complemented by a matching round pouf as a footrest.

The swivel base gives the armchair extra freedom of movement. Choose an upholstered base or one veneered in natural oak in a range of shades; alternatively, the Bofii stands on solid wood legs. In 2025 the armchair received the German Design Award in the Excellent Design category, and it was added to the permanent collection of the National Museum in Kraków after being shown in the exhibition 'Transformacje. Nowoczesność w III RP'.

What you don't see

Build quality

You can't see the real quality of a piece of furniture: it is on the inside, in the frame, the foam, the springs and the seams. That is why a Bizzarto is strong, made for long and intensive use — and noticeably heavier.

  • Wood, plywood and steelNo chipboard, but a frame of thick wood, plywood and steel, on a strong base. It stays stable and keeps its shape, even after years of intensive use.
  • Seating comfort that lastsHigh-grade foam from Europe's top brands in the seats, including memory foam (the so-called NASA foam). It moulds itself to your body and springs back every time.
  • Springs and mechanisms for every daySprings give the seat even support. Moving parts, such as recliner and sleep functions, fold-out footrests, armrests and headrests, are made to be used every day.
  • Made by hand, double-stitchedEvery piece is made by hand in our own manufactory, with fabrics and foam from the best brands in Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and Portugal. All seams are double-stitched, so the fabric and stitching stay crisp for years.
