Designer garden furniture

Designer garden furniture, living-room comfort outdoors.

From modular lounge sets to an outdoor daybed, garden armchairs and poufs: fifteen upholstered outdoor models, each made in a waterproof or a quick-drying version. Many sets can simply stay outside through the winter.

Design your garden set

A designer garden set is a coordinated set of outdoor furniture, such as a lounge sofa with an armchair and pouf, that combines the design and seating comfort of indoor furniture with materials that can cope with sun, rain and cold. At Bizzarto every outdoor model is either waterproof or quick-drying; seven models are available in both versions.

Our outdoor collection has fifteen models. Alongside nine modular lounge sets, there is the complete Ibiza range with corner sofa, sofa, armchair and pouf, the Goa set in metal and fabric, the Kiwi outdoor daybed, the Sol and Luna garden armchairs for the outdoor dining table and the Cubus poufs. Every lounge set and size side by side is on our page on designer lounge sets.

The range

What makes up a designer garden set?

Fifteen models, six types of outdoor furniture. This is how you put together a set that suits your garden and the way you live outdoors.

01

Modular lounge sets

Nine collections of separate modules, from the compact Wave to the generously proportioned Neo. Acapulco, Bahama, Benz, Siesta, Vino, Nice and Rodos can also be combined into the layout that suits your terrace.

02

Corner sofa, sofa and armchair

Ibiza looks as though it has come straight from the living room. The corner sofa consists of two separate sections that you can also use as two sofas. There is also a two-seater sofa, an armchair and a pouf, on stainless steel legs.

03

Metal and fabric

Goa pairs cool metal with soft upholstery: a 2.5-seater sofa, an armchair and a pouf, with metal parts in grey or black. Designed by Pracownia Oyster, the studio of Wojciech Barański.

04

Outdoor daybed

Kiwi comes in single or double width, 90 or 120 × 190 cm. The triangular back cushions are loose, so you can set them upright or more reclined, and the quick-dry ‘dry foam’ filling wicks away moisture quickly.

05

Garden armchairs for the table

Sol and Luna are upholstered garden armchairs for breakfast, lunch or dinner outdoors. Sol has a high back and armrests that slide under the table; Luna a comfortably shaped high back. You decide how many you need.

06

Poufs

Cubus poufs come in 50 × 50 and 120 × 50 cm, with a seat height of 50 cm: handy extra seating on the terrace, and children love them too.

Weather-resistant

Waterproof or quick-drying: what is the difference?

With the waterproof version, rain stays on top of the upholstery. After a shower you wipe the fabric with a clean, dry cloth and can sit down again straight away. With the quick-drying version, the water-permeable ‘water goes thru’ technology, rainwater drains through the upholstery as if through a sieve. After about an hour in the sun the seat is dry again.

  • Waterproof only: Nice and Rodos.
  • Quick-drying only: Acapulco, Bahama, Goa, Siesta, Vino and Cubus.
  • Both versions: Benz, Ibiza, Wave, Neo, Kiwi, Sol and Luna.

If you want to sit down again straight after a shower, choose waterproof; if you would rather let the set dry by itself, quick-drying suits you. Nice and Bahama share the same construction and dimensions, as do Rodos and Vino: the same design, in two technologies.

Fabrics & care

How do you look after luxury garden furniture?

For the upholstery, Bizzarto uses outdoor fabrics of the kind also found on boats and yachts, for example on Goa, Ibiza, Neo, Sol and Luna. They are sun-resistant and will not fade, withstand changes in temperature and have an antibacterial and mould-resistant finish. That keeps care simple:

  • Stains: red wine or chocolate can be removed with water, as long as you act straight away, while the stain is still fresh.
  • After a shower: wipe the waterproof version dry with a clean cloth; the quick-drying version dries by itself.
  • Hot cups and plates: if you use a pouf as a table, as with Ibiza, Vino and Rodos, put a coaster or tray on it, as heat can damage the upholstery.
  • Moving: always lift the Kiwi daybed; dragging it across the surface can cause damage.

Colour and pattern

You have plenty of freedom with the fabric: plain or patterned, one colour for the whole set or deliberate contrast. With Siesta you choose a fabric per element, also with a thick piping in another colour, and the metal parts of Goa come in grey or black.

Quality on the inside

Quality you can’t see, but can feel.

The real quality of a piece of furniture is something you cannot see. What you see and feel is the fabric and the beautiful design; what keeps garden furniture looking good season after season lies underneath. In our outdoor furniture, that means:

  • A shape-retaining frame: made of dimensionally stable polystyrene in Bahama, Nice, Vino, Rodos, Siesta, Ibiza and Cubus, among others; in Kiwi of high-density polystyrene, which is highly resistant to deformation.
  • Lightweight yet strong aluminium: the frame and legs of the Sol and Luna garden armchairs.
  • Treated foam: antibacterial and mould-resistant in Sol, Luna and Kiwi. Kiwi also has quick-dry ‘dry foam’ that ensures good air circulation in damp weather.
  • A protected underside: low black PVC glides, so Kiwi does not rest directly on the ground and its underside stays protected from dirt and damage.
  • Handwork: Benz was designed exclusively for Bizzarto and is made by hand in Poland.

Our indoor furniture follows the same thinking: no chipboard, but thick, heavy wood, springs, high-quality foam in the seats, including memory foam, and moving parts made for daily use. That is why it is noticeably heavier and built for long, intensive use. Read more about quality on the inside and about our handmade furniture.

Design & advice

Design your garden set and get personal advice.

In the 3D configurator you can put together Acapulco, Bahama, Benz and Wave module by module, among others; Goa, Ibiza, Siesta, Kiwi and Cubus are in there too. Instead of a room, you enter the dimensions of your terrace, and you see straight away whether the layout fits.

Then you save your design without obligation and a Dutch interior consultant gets in touch. You look at the fabrics at home with the sample box or with a consultant at your home. After a 50% deposit, your garden set is made by hand and delivered and installed within 6–8 weeks. Read about custom-made furniture, or explore all our designer furniture.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about designer garden furniture

Can a designer garden set stay outside all year round?

Yes. Acapulco, Bahama, Benz, Goa, Siesta, Vino, Nice, Rodos and Cubus withstand strong sun, rain, snow and temperatures down to -23 °C and can stay outside in winter too. Ibiza, Neo, Kiwi, Sol and Luna can also stay outside all year round.

What is the difference between waterproof and water-permeable garden furniture?

With a waterproof version the water stays on top of the upholstery; after a shower you wipe it off with a clean, dry cloth and can sit down again straight away. With the water-permeable ‘water goes thru’ version, the water drains through the fabric and the seat is dry again after about an hour in the sun. Benz, Ibiza, Wave, Neo, Kiwi, Sol and Luna are available in both versions.

Which garden chairs work at an outdoor dining table?

The upholstered Sol and Luna garden armchairs, both 60 × 65 cm, with a lightweight aluminium frame. Sol has a high backrest and is 94 cm tall, with armrests that slide under the table. Luna has a comfortably shaped back and is 80 cm tall. Both are available waterproof or quick-drying.

Is there an outdoor daybed?

Yes, Kiwi. The outdoor daybed comes in 90 × 190 and 120 × 190 cm, for one or two people, and can stay outside all year round. Kiwi is available waterproof or quick-drying; in the quick-drying version the bed is dry again about an hour after a heavy downpour.

How do you recognise high-quality garden furniture?

By what you do not see at first glance: a frame that keeps its shape, such as the dimensionally stable polystyrene of Bahama, Nice and Rodos or the aluminium of Sol and Luna, foam with an antibacterial and mould-resistant finish, and outdoor fabric that does not fade in the sun. Also ask whether a set can stay outside in winter: with many Bizzarto sets it can, down to -23 °C.

Can I design my garden set online?

Yes. In the 3D configurator you can design Acapulco, Bahama, Benz and Wave, among others. You enter the dimensions of your terrace and immediately see whether the layout fits. Then you save your design without obligation and an interior consultant gets in touch.
