Design your sofa

A designer sofa is one in which design, comfort and craftsmanship come together: drawn by a designer or studio, with a recognisable silhouette, and built to stay comfortable for years. At Bizzarto you design your sofa yourself, and it is then made to measure and by hand for you.

Our collection comprises 26 sofas, designed with Grynasz Studio, Mika Design, Nicer Design and Pracownia Oyster, among others; six sofa collections have won international awards. Below you will find the different types of luxury designer sofa and what to look for when choosing. Or browse all sofas straight away.

Choosing

What to look for in a designer sofa

A designer sofa is not something you choose on looks alone. Together, these five decisions determine whether it will still please you in ten years.

  • The shape. A straight sofa along one wall, a corner sofa or U-shaped sofa for more seats, or a curved sofa that stands freely in the room. Measure the room first and keep at least 90 cm of walking space clear.
  • The seat depth. The depth of our sofas ranges from 84 cm for Bofii to 143 cm for Choco. In Spring and Choco you adjust the seat depth with a sliding backrest; Grande and Dune come in two depths.
  • The softness. In many collections, such as Aston, Norman and Manhattan, you decide how soft the seat and back are. You can often choose the filling too: feathers and down, synthetic down or anti-allergic silicone fibre.
  • The fabric. Woven fabrics such as Padova, Seattle and the 100% linen Linea, bouclé (Florence and Ascot), velvet (Claude and Seven), chenille (Duomo, Denver, Coco and Doodle) and micro leather (Yacht and Aston). Look at them at home with the sample box, or read more about the bouclé sofa.
  • The base. Wooden legs in oak, walnut or black, slender metal legs in eight RAL colours, an upholstered base or the arched legs of Arch. The base decides whether the sofa looks light or grounded.

Designers & awards

Designed by leading studios.

A designer sofa starts with the designer. These four studios designed fifteen of our sofas. Six sofa collections have won international awards.

01

Grynasz Studio

The studio of Marta Niemywska-Grynasz and Dawid Grynasz designed Bofii, inspired by the architect Ricardo Bofill, and La Roche, a dialogue with Le Corbusier’s Villa La Roche. Dune, Zen, Torii and the new Irys from 2026 are theirs too.

02

Mika Design

Designer Michalina Misiorny seeks the balance between beauty and practicality. She drew Spring, Miami, Choco, Aston, Columbus, Norman and the distinctly soft Manhattan.

03

Nicer Design & Pracownia Oyster

Nicer Design created Arch, a sculptural sofa on arched legs that looks right from every angle. Pracownia Oyster drew Mist: asymmetric modules with soft curves, featured by the design platform Design Milk.

04

Award-winning sofas

Bofii won the Red Dot Design Award 2025, the German Design Award 2025 and Must Have 2024. La Roche (2025), Torii (2024), Dune and Zen received a Must Have distinction from Łódź Design Festival; Dune and Calvados won the Diament Meblarstwa. Read more about our design awards.

Quality from the inside

Quality you can’t see, but can feel.

The real quality of a sofa is something you cannot see. What you see and feel is the fabric and the beautiful design. Whether a designer sofa still sits as well after years is decided by what lies beneath:

  • The frame: no chipboard, but thick wood, plywood and steel. The skeleton of the sofa has to withstand daily use without creaking or wobbling.
  • The springs: they provide resilience and even support. In Mood, for example, a proprietary combination of different springs works together with high-resilience foams.
  • The foam: in the seats we use high-quality foam, including memory foam (the so-called NASA foam). Manhattan has its own combination of foams for a distinctly soft seat.
  • The moving parts: the mechanisms for reclining, sleeping and adjustment functions, such as the electric reclining function of Swing and the Italian sleeping mechanism of Flow, are made for daily use.

Because of these high-quality materials, a Bizzarto sofa weighs noticeably more than average. That weight makes it strong and suited to long, intensive use. The construction is also so durable that we can reupholster your sofa after years. Read more about quality from the inside.

Design & advice

Your designer sofa, step by step.

In our 3D configurator you choose the model, the modules, the fabric and the colour. You see your sofa straight away in 3D and to scale in your room. Then you save your design without obligation: you pay nothing yet.

  • Advice and quotation: a Dutch interior consultant gives you complete advice. We then prepare your quotation and discuss it with you.
  • Choose the fabric: once you accept. With a purchase from € 15,000 we fly you in free of charge to our showroom in Warsaw; with a smaller purchase you receive the fabrics at home in the sample box, a large box on loan that you send back free of charge.
  • Deposit and production: after your final fabric choice you receive the invoice and pay a 50% deposit, after which your sofa is made to measure and by hand.
  • Delivery: within 6–8 weeks your sofa is ready. You receive a message with the planned delivery date, within 2 weeks. Once it is planned, you pay the second part of the invoice and your sofa is delivered and installed, with a personal serial number and certificate.

If you choose an interior from € 15,000, we invite you on a design trip to Poland, including a visit to our showroom in Warsaw and to the manufactory where your furniture is made. Or request our free inspiration book first.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about designer sofas

What is a designer sofa?

A designer sofa is a sofa created by a designer or design studio, with careful attention to form, comfort and execution. At Bizzarto these include sofas by Grynasz Studio, Mika Design, Nicer Design and Pracownia Oyster. You design them yourself, after which they are made by hand.

How much does a luxury designer sofa cost?

That depends on the collection, the number of modules, the fabric and the options, such as a sleeping or reclining function. After you have designed your sofa and received personal advice, we prepare a quotation for exactly your sofa and discuss it with you. An interior from € 15,000 includes a design trip to Poland.

Which designer sofas have won a design award?

Bofii by Grynasz Studio won the Red Dot Design Award 2025, the German Design Award 2025 and Must Have 2024. La Roche, Torii, Dune and Zen received a Must Have distinction, and Dune and Calvados won the Diament Meblarstwa.

Why is a Bizzarto sofa so heavy?

Because the quality is on the inside. The frame is not chipboard but thick wood, and in the seats we use springs and high-quality foam, including memory foam. These materials weigh noticeably more than average and make the sofa strong and suited to long, intensive use.

Which type of sofa suits my living room?

That depends on the room and on how you like to sit. A straight sofa works along one wall, a corner sofa or a sofa with a chaise longue fits a corner, and if you like to sink right in, choose a lounge sofa such as Manhattan or Mood. In the 3D configurator you see to scale whether the sofa fits, with at least 90 cm of walking space.

What is the delivery time for a designer sofa?

Once you have accepted the quotation and made your final fabric choice, you pay a 50% deposit. Your sofa is then made by hand: within 6–8 weeks it is ready. You receive a message with the planned delivery date, and delivery and installation follow within 2 weeks, with a personal serial number and certificate.

Can I see and feel a Bizzarto sofa first?

You can look at the fabrics at home with the sample box or with an interior consultant at your home; soon you will also be welcome in our showroom in Rotterdam. With an interior from € 15,000, the design trip includes a visit to our showroom in Warsaw.

What you don't see

Build quality

You can't see the real quality of a piece of furniture: it is on the inside, in the frame, the foam, the springs and the seams. That is why a Bizzarto is strong, made for long and intensive use — and noticeably heavier.

  • Wood, plywood and steelNo chipboard, but a frame of thick wood, plywood and steel, on a strong base. It stays stable and keeps its shape, even after years of intensive use.
  • Seating comfort that lastsHigh-grade foam from Europe's top brands in the seats, including memory foam (the so-called NASA foam). It moulds itself to your body and springs back every time.
  • Springs and mechanisms for every daySprings give the seat even support. Moving parts, such as recliner and sleep functions, fold-out footrests, armrests and headrests, are made to be used every day.
  • Made by hand, double-stitchedEvery piece is made by hand in our own manufactory, with fabrics and foam from the best brands in Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and Portugal. All seams are double-stitched, so the fabric and stitching stay crisp for years.
